Research Focus:

Cardiac genetics and cardiac pharmacogenomics are the principal foci of my research. Specifically, mutation identification and subsequent evaluation of the role that these mutations play in the development of congenital heart disease as well as their effects on response to medical therapy. One of my research goals is to further propel the role of individualized medicine in veterinary cardiology patients. Additionally I am dedicated to the development of large animal models of human heart disease such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
