Deborah Silverstein

Deborah Silverstein graduated from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She completed a small animal rotating internship at Georgia in 1998, then spent 3 years at the University of California, Davis as a resident in small animal Emergency and Critical Care. She obtained Diplomate status in 2001 and moved to Philadelphia to join the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania. She currently an Associate Professor of Critical care and teaches in the small animal Intensive Care Unit at the Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her research interests include diagnosing and treating shock states, resuscitation of unstable patients and the changes in microcirculatory perfusion in critical illness.
